Mamu’s Arrest: Gumi Breaks Silence, Accuses DSS Of Terrorism

Sheikh Ahmad Gumi who is a Kaduna based islamic scholar has told the Department of State Services to release Tukur Mamu or charge him to Court, according to him, he stated that anyone who has been arrested for an alleged crime must be taken to Court within 24 hours as he cited the constitution. Do recall that Mamu who was responsible for negotiating the release of some victims involved in the Abuja Kaduna train attack was arrested in Cairo, Egypt when he was on his way to Saudi Arabia to attend lesser hajj. He was then deported back to Nigeria and picked at the Kano International Airport.

The DSS stated that Mamu had questions to answer over the rising insecurity in the country. He said this during his weekly preaching at Sultan Bello Mosque, Sheikh Gumi said that Mamu was arrested for assisting victims in getting released from the kidnappers. The cleric further said that Allah has a way of testing a believer and that Allah was testing Mamu’s faith, he prayed to Allah that he would overcome what is happening.
