The federal government has come under fire from the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) over the alleged release of 101 Boko Haram members from the Ikoyi Custodial Center.

“This Federal Government covertly sponsors and supports terrorists who have massacred a lot of people by the way they conspired with the terrorists to free their members from Kuje Prison a few months ago,” the group’s media and publicity secretary, Emma Powerful, said in a statement on Wednesday.
The remaining terrorists in Ikoyi Prison have been unconditionally released by the same administration.
“These Boko Haram terrorists detained in Ikoyi, Lagos, were never brought before a court since their arrest in 2019 and we are aware that no court freed or granted them bail, but they were released through presidential or cabal orders,” he continued.
Kanu’s continued detention alongside other IPOB members, according to Powerful, is further evidence that the Igbos are not necessary in Nigeria.
Therefore, he demanded that the government release Kanu and others immediately and without conditions, just as it did with Boko Haram members.
