Black Sunday: Deadly Accident In Lagos Claimed The Lives Of Seven Persons

At least seven people have been burnt to death after a commercial bus caught fire in the Iyana Oworo neighbourhood of LagosNigeria, as a result of careless driving and speeding.

It was learned that the accident involved a commercial Mazda bus with the license plate KJA 699 GY and 14 passengers.

Witnesses reported seeing the bus suddenly catch fire as people were attempting to exit it.

According to reports, a girl who was covered in fire rushed from the flaming bus.

The driver is said to have managed to flee the car with body burns while the other twelve passengers are said to have been trapped.

According to reports, three further passengers managed to escape the car and were treated at the Gbagada General Hospital.

Another passenger reportedly received care and was then released from the hospital at the scene of the accident.

At the scene of the event, officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the Lagos State Ambulance Services (LASAMBUS) were seen attempting to rescue victims who were trapped in the burning bus.
