Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have to pay over £40 million for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, a player Tottenham Hotspur playmaker James Maddison rates highly.

That is according to Sky Sports, who have reported Leicester City’s stance on a potential exit for Dewsbury-Hall.

Arsenal would have to pay £40m+ for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Well, according to The Athletic, Arsenal are among the clubs who are interested in signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City in the final days of the January transfer window.

The report has claimed that Brighton and Hove Albion are already in talks with Leicester over a deal for Dewsbury-Hall.

Fulham, too, are keen on the 25-year-old midfielder, who did not feature for the Foxes on Saturday.

Sky Sports have reported that Leicester want at least £40 million to open talks over a possible deal for him.

My View: Arsenal do not need Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

In my opinion, Arsenal do not need to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. I do not think that the Gunners should pay over £40 million for the 25-year-old.

Yes, Dewsbury-Hall is a very good midfielder. He is 25 now and his best years are ahead of him.

But, Arsenal are not in desperate need of a midfielder of his mould. Dewsbury-Hall is best used in an attacking role.

Martin Odegaard is the playmaker-in-chief for Arsenal, who also have Emile Smith Rowe on their books.

Dewsbury-Hall has made 25 starts and two substitute appearances in the Championship for Leicester this season. He has scored nine goals and given nine assists in those matches.

The Englishman has scored three goals and given four assists in 59 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
