Breaking news: Victor Osimhen sends Mudryk and Nkunku message as Napoli brace for Chelsea transfer offer

Victor Osimhen continues to be linked with a move to Chelsea in the January transfer window and he’s certainly showing what he’d bring to the team

Chelsea’s search for another striker in the transfer market has seemingly seen them land on a few different options that could add that clinical edge they need in the box. One name stands out from the rest though, and that’s Napoli star Victor Osimhen, a player with goal-scoring pedigree at the highest level.

The link with the Nigerian international is nothing new, ever since he revealed his role model to be none other than former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba. Paths haven’t crossed much since, with concerns that the Blues can’t guarantee European football along with a team that will need time to grow.

However, there has been an opportunity that will seemingly open up in the months to come as a new contract is set to be signed between Osimhen and Napoli. It isn’t a usual extension though, as recent reports claim that it will contain a release clause worth roughly £110million.

The Azzurri are claimed to be expectant of an offer in the near future, with a replacement already being searched for in the transfer windows ahead. It means Chelsea have been named a clear price they’d have to pay, with an opportunity to trigger the clause and swiftly wrap up negotiations.

While it’s a deal that is expensive, it could be the missing piece to finding the goals in a free-flowing manner, and not just because he can score them. He could, in fact, be the key to unlocking the likes of Christopher Nkunku and Mykhailo Mudryk in the team with more chances.

Osimhen displayed just that in Napoli’s clash with Cagliari over the weekend, where he not only scored to give them the lead, but came up with an outrageous assist to win them the game. With several defenders around him, the 24-year-old managed to juggle the ball several times before bursting behind the line and squaring it to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

It’s a clear message to those at Chelsea that he could be the difference to unlocking their whole frontline, not just scoring himself when it counts. It remains to be seen whether a deal is possible in January or the summer, but it may be the one that changes everything for the Blues.
