Breaking news: Chelsea owner Todd Boehly agrees with Mauricio Pochettino on big Chelsea issue as solution addressed

Chelsea news: Mauricio Pochettino has opened up about his relationship with co-owner Todd Boehly after two months into his reign at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that co-owner Todd Boehly has offered him his full support after the difficult start to the season. The Blues have won only one of their first five Premier League games and have failed to score in their last two games.

Boehly and Clearlake Capital appointed Pochettino early in the summer in a bid to avoid a repeat of last term’s 12th-placed finish. However, after spending close to £500million, the club currently sit 14th in the league.

The ongoing struggles at Stamford Bridge have resulted in many criticising the running of the club. Pochettino himself has already been the victim of early criticism, but the Argentine has claimed the hierarchy continue to back him.

Speaking about his relationship with Boehly ahead of Sunday’s game against Aston Villa, he said: “We talk. We talk with the sporting directors, they are supporting the project. They are not disappointed because we have similar feelings about the project.

We are playing well but we need to be more clinical in front of goal. That is the most important thing in football. It’s difficult to find data that says Chelsea is not on the top [of chance creation].

“I am not frustrated because I think the team is performing well and missing many key players. I am disappointed because I think many teams with less score more. That is why we feel bad. The players deserve more.

The only way to find what we want is to keep pushing, keep playing. I am so happy with how the team felt after Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest. They really care and they really want to win games and I think this week was good to work hard.”
