Despite spending so much money in the last transfer window, Chelsea have underperformed this season.

The Blues currently sit in 11th, taking just 12 points from their first 10 Premier League games. However, Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly does not seem to be losing patience with Mauricio Pochettino.

According to Simon Phillips, writing on his Substack Si Phillips Talks Chelsea, Boehly is very happy with Pochettino. The journalist says he “spoke to a source” who confirmed that the co-owner is pleased with his manager despite the team’s struggles.

The Blues’ failure to beat Brentford at the weekend means they have still won just once at home in the Premier League this season.

And that win came against newly-promoted Luton Town, so their home form is a cause for concern.

Todd Boehly should be happy with Mauricio Pochettino
If Boehly really is happy with Pochettino, as Phillips has claimed, it is understandable, even with Chelsea not being where they want to be right now.

Honestly, Pochettino has not done too much wrong since arriving at Stamford Bridge, despite the Premier League table suggesting otherwise.

The Argentine’s coaching and tactics are giving Chelsea chances to win games, you only have to look at their 2-2 draw with Arsenal before the Brentford defeat.

The Blues went 2-0 up on the day and only allowed Arsenal back into the match after a mistake from Robert Sanchez.

As for that recent loss to Brentford, Chelsea absolutely dominated the London derby. According to WhoScored, they had just under 69% possession and registered 17 shots. Poor finishing, with Marc Cucurella wasting a glorious chance in the first half, cost them, not Pochettino.

The Argentine is doing his job amid all of the injuries he is having to contend with. It is the players on the pitch who really need to be questioned after the club’s latest disappointing result.
