The referee and VAR referee have been announced today ahead of this weekend’s fixtures.
After a long-winded international break, Chelsea and Arsenal’s players will be meeting Chris Kavanagh in the middle of the pitch on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the VAR referee choice may annoy some Chelsea fans, with Jarred Gillet, responsible for choosing to send off Malo Gusto against Aston Villa, heading up the VAR room.
Gillet initially gave a yellow card to Gusto but changed his decision quickly to a red following VAR consultation, with some fans rightly annoyed that the on pitch referee never show any guts to stick with their original decision.
Chelsea will hope that Gillet does not interfere in a negative way this weekend in what feels like a game where we are bound to have a controversial decision of some sort.
The game will be televised this Saturday on Sky Sports Football, with the game due to kick off at 5:30pm UK time.
