Name Aso Rock After Queen Elizabeth – Ohanaeze Tells Buhari

The apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to name Aso Rock after the late Queen Elizabeth.

The south-east group said this while reacting to the call made by Adamu Garba, a former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, that the University of Nigeria in Nsukka, Enugu State, should be named after the world-class monarch.

Ohanaeze said Garba must tender an apology to the people of the southeast for making such a remark.

The Igbo group asked President Buhari to jettison the idea of naming the University of Nigeria after the late monarch because the institution is one of the best in the country and very important to the people of the south-east.

The group added that the Federal Medical Center in Umuahia, Abia State, was renamed after the late British monarch, and is known as the Queen Elizabeth Medical Centre.

Ohanaeze said it would be better for President Buhari to name the seat of power, Aso Rock, after Queen Elizabeth instead of the university.
