Chelsea is blessed with a lot of talents and expensive player’s but Pochettino don’t know how to use them, that’s why I’m mad at him, if not we have player who can bench caicedo and Enzo in our team’: Chelsea legend Ashley Cole says £50m Chelsea star can play more than caicedo and Enzo if given the chance

Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo have dropped an early team news hint ahead of Chelsea’s clash against Manchester City. The Premier League champions will welcome the Blues to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon as either side looks to climb the table.

Mauricio Pochettino, whose position in the dugout remains under pressure, will be determined to climb into a European qualification spot this weekend after only recently climbing into the top ten with a win against Crystal Palace on Monday. Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola will be hoping to pile the pressure on Liverpool and Arsenal as the title race builds a head of steam.

Nevertheless, Fernandez and Caicedo have posted pre-match graphic previews of the tie to their respective Instagram stories which, historically, suggests that they will be involved in some capacity. Speaking to reporters ahead of the clash this weekend, Pochettino confirmed that Malo Gusto, Levi Colwill and Robert Sanchez could start.

“Yes, they are okay. They have recovered well and they are available for tomorrow,” said the former Tottenham Hotspur boss. “Robert Sanchez is available. It is good news.”

Then, when pushed for an update on Sanchez, Pochettino kept his cards close to his chest. The Chelsea manager said: “Yes, it is always good to recover a player and he was playing a lot. To be available again is a good thing for the team. You will see [if he comes straight back into the side].”

Cole Palmer will be returning to the Etihad Stadium for the first time since leaving Manchester City on deadline day in the summer. When asked if the 21-year-old midfielder has ‘something to prove’ against his former side, Pochettino replied: “No, he’s not this type of player that needs to prove nothing.

“He is very grateful for his period at Manchester City. He left the club because he wanted to find another challenge or have the possibility to play more. Yes, here he is very lucky because he is playing a lot of games here. He is going to be there, trying to play and to perform for him and his team.”

Pochettino was then asked whether Guardiola regrets selling Palmer. The 51-year-old said: “That is a question for him. Look, for me, Manchester City have an amazing squad, players, and of course the decision is not a regret or not regret. Sometimes we make some decisions where we are thinking the best for the team.

“That doesn’t mean there is a good or not so good player. Sometimes the circumstances didn’t match and that situation can happen; players wanting to leave and you cannot provide the game time. It’s unfair to say they are going to regret it. Manchester City is doing really well, they are one of the best teams in the world and it’s not easy to find the space to play for a young guy.”

With that being said, Pochettino will be relying on the likes of Palmer, Fernandez and Caicedo to step up for the big occasion. While a few players have also posted a pre-match previews of the City fixture to their Instagram stories, it does not necessarily mean they will all definitely start.

But it does usually mean that they will be involved in some capacity. Follow our live coverage of the game in our blog HERE from 1.30pm.
