Breaking New: Chelsea battle Real Madrid to sign highly rated €70million star

According to Get Spanish Football News, Chelsea are set to challenge Real Madrid in the pursuit of Bayern Munich’s full-back Alphonso Davies.

Davies is not keen on renewing his contract with Bayern Munich, which expires in a year, prompting the Bundesliga club to consider selling him to avoid losing him for free.

Real Madrid has prioritized Davies, but Chelsea’s entry into the bidding war, coupled with their willingness to meet Bayern’s €70m valuation, could complicate matters. Manchester City is also showing interest but is currently just observing the situation.

Davies is a top transfer target for Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window and the Blues are hoping to beat Real Madrid to his signature.

Real Madrid and Chelsea have four months until the summer transfer window to negotiate with Bayern Munich for Davies.

Davies is seeking a renewal salary of €15m from Bayern, a figure both Real Madrid and Chelsea are capable of matching.

Meanwhile, Manchester City host Chelsea this weekend, and City boss, Pep Guardiola has admitted he’s wary of Chelsea’s recent form.

The Blues appear to have turned the corner once again, after bouncing back from consecutive defeats to Liverpool and Wolves, to beat Aston Villa and Crystal Palace 3-1, each.

Guardiola believes there’s renewed spirit and vigour in Mauricio Pochettino’s side, who he also says are now playing with a ‘huge’ personality.

“It’s one game at a time. Now it is Chelsea,” the Spaniard told reporters after Man City’s 3-1 Champions League win against FC Copenhagen on Tuesday night.

“They played really well against Aston Villa and yesterday, in the hotel, we watched the game against Crystal Palace.

“They played with huge personality. Now we recover and focus on Chelsea.”
