Chelsea could face a busy January transfer deadline day as potential incomings and outgoings are on the cards for Mauricio Pochettino.

The Blues have had a relatively quiet window by their recent standards, making few moves within the squad so far. The west London outfit has gained a reputation for attacking the market aggressively under their new ownership, but that hasn’t been the case this winter.

It has come at a time where there has been a slight uptick in form under Pochettino, with European qualification now within their sights. That’s not to say there aren’t some problems within the squad though.

Questions remain over some players and whether they have a future at Stamford Bridge for the project ahead. Meanwhile, a clinical striker is a clear requirement for Chelsea moving forward if they want to improve.

With that said, here’s a look at a few deals that could be completed on January transfer deadline day that may impact Chelsea.

Jhon Duran transfer

HITC understands that Chelsea have held talks with Aston Villa over a possible deal concerning striker Jhon Duran. The 20-year-old has impressed in his few appearances since moving to Villa Park, often playing behind Ollie Watkins.

An injury to the youngster may throw doubt over a move in the final day, though with the long-term prospect in mind, the switch may go ahead anyway. HITC understands Armando Broja has been discussed as an option to move to Villa in exchange.

Martin Braithwaite transfer

Chelsea’s search for a striker could see them look at a short-term option in January to help them reach the end of the season. HITC understands the Blues have been offered the chance of landing Martin Braithwaite this transfer window.

The ex-Barcelona forward has impressed in the Segunda Division and has been offered to a number of clubs.

Conor Gallagher transfer

Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher continues to be linked with an exit, with his contract nearing the final 12 months. With an agreement on a new deal not seeming near, it could pave the way for a move on transfer deadline day.

According to a recent report from the Times, rivals Tottenham are gearing up for a late approach for the England international. Spurs were previously linked with Gallagher in the summer, but missed out on landing him.
