Bradley Ibrahim joined Arsenal after he was released by QPR at the age of 13.
The ‘powerful‘ midfielder came through the ranks at Hale End and has featured for both the U18s and the U21s sides in Arsenal’s Academy.
Fabrizio Romano revealed yesterday that Hertha Berlin have agreed a deal with Arsenal to sign Ibrahim and the 19-year-old has already flown over to Germany to complete his move.
The journalist revealed that Arsenal have ‘matching rights’ to sign him back one day and have also included a ‘healthy sell-on clause’ and ‘add-ons for appearances’.
Romano didn’t mention any details about the transfer fee, but Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has revealed that Arsenal will make ‘almost nothing’ from the deal.
He tweeted yesterday: “Bradley Ibrahim will finalize his medical at @HerthaBSC on Wednesday. Afterward, he will sign a contract until 2027. It’s a DONE DEAL.”
He added: “Been told it was a great job by Sporting Director Benjamin Weber to get the deal done. Transfer fee? Almost nothing.”
Myles Lewis-Skelly will get more opportunities now
Bradley Ibrahim is a versatile player, but he is naturally a defensive midfielder.
The 19-year-old has been a regular in Arsenal’s U21s side this season, and his departure leaves a hole in the middle of the park.
Arsenal, however, have another gem coming through – 17-year-old Myles Lewis Skelly.
The teenager is one of the most talented players at Hale End right now, and we expect him to get regular opportunities in the U21s side in the coming months following Bradley’s departure.
That will help his development and potentially accelerate his journey to the first team.
