BBC Journalist Luke Edwards has now tipped one Chelsea player to leave the club in the next few days.

He told the Transfer Gossip Daily podcast that he thinks Armando Broja will not still be at Chelsea when the January transfer window comes to an end.

Broja has been reportedly made available for purchase this month if the right bid comes in. £50m has frequently been discussed as the fee that would see him move.

These reports have come despite the fact that the club have only two first team stars to play that position at the club right now.

The other one, Nicolas Jackson, is currently off representing his country at the African Cup of Nations.

This has given the academy graduate a chance to prove his case as a regular in the squad under Mauricio Pochettino, however it doesn’t feel as if he has taken it up to now.

This could perhaps lean into why Edwards has tipped him to leave in the final week of the transfer window.

He said: “Broja is an interesting one. I still think there will be a loan with an obligation to buy for him but then Chelsea are still going to scraping around the market seeing who they can get.

“Whether they can stretch to Benzema, who has been linked with a return to Real Madrid and Arsenal as well. These are the sorts of the deals that when I say something dramatic is going to happen, you have a player like Benzema who is in his mid 30’s now, but there is a need for a player of that ilk.

“These are the sort of deals I think are going to happen. I think there will be some drama at the end of the window.”

Any sale this month would bring massive pressure onto Jackson to both deliver goals and stay fit, with injuries plaguing the squad a lot this season.
