Chelsea monitoring the situation of River Plate striker Agustin Ruberto ahead of potential January swoop

Chelsea are keeping an eye on River Plate striker Agustin Ruberto ahead of a possible move during the January transfer window, according to the Secret Scout.

The Argentina youth international turns 18 on January 6, which makes him eligible to move to Europe, but the Blues are not the only club keen on recruiting his services, with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City also interested.

Ruberto has been promoted to the River Plate first-team after impressing at the FIFA under-17 World Cup last year.

The Blues are famous for signing youngsters and hidden gems from South America, and Ruberto could be the next in line.

The teenage sensation has proven to be a goal machine for club and country, with 14 goals to his name for the Argentine youth teams.
