Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel wants to sign one Chelsea player this month.

Thomas Tuchel obviously knows some of Chelsea‘s squad well after managing the club, and he now looks to be eyeing up a reunion with one individual that he coached.

According to The Independent, the German is keen on signing Trevoh Chalobah after missing out on him during the summer.

In the last transfer window, the Evening Standard claimed that Bayern had a loan bid for the central defender rejected, with Chelsea wanting £50m for him.

It appears, though, that the Bundesliga champions could resurrect their interest this month.

Thomas Tuchel could get his man

There is no reason for Chelsea to deny Chalobah a move to Bayern if that is what the player and Tuchel both want.

With Mauricio Pochettino having Thiago Silva, Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana and Levi Colwill all in his squad, it is unlikely that the 24-year-old is going to play much.

What makes things worse for Chalobah is that Chelsea are being linked with more central defenders, such as Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo.

All in all, then, there probably is a chance of Chalobah joining Bayern before the transfer window closes.

However, from the last transfer window, it is clear that Chelsea’s preference is not a loan, while Bayern are going to be reluctant to spend big on the former England U21 international. They know his situation at the club and that Chelsea are likely to be open to doing business given the amount of centre-halves they already have.

If some sort of compromise can be met, maybe this one could happen. It is early into the transfer window, though, a lot still needs to happen. But Chalobah joining Bayern is the kind of deal that could potentially benefit all parties.
