BREAKING NEWS: “LET Him Pack his things and Leave I don’t want to see him in my Club Again, He didn’t score an open Net and caused the Secon Goal”- Pochettino has instructed Chelsea FLOP to leave the Club with immediate effect.

Mauricio Pochettino has been been dealt a major boost to his hopes of keeping Benoit Badiashile ahead of the upcoming transfer window. The 22-year-old defender, who joined Chelsea from AS Monaco last January, has been briefly linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge lately as the Blues plan to trim down their first-team squad.

Contrary to reports from France, football.london understand that Olympique Lyonnais are not interested in Badiashile. The France international has recently become a pillar in the west Londoners’ backline, starting four of the last five Premier League games.

Even with numerous centre-backs at Pochettino’s disposal, Badiashile has been preferred in the heart of the Chelsea’s defence with Levi Colwill and Axel Disasi often shifted to full-back. In fact, football.london also understand that he has no intention to leave the club at this moment in time and shall stay at Stamford Bridge for the foreseeable future.

With Thiago Silva’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, the Blues will be exploring ways to replace the veteran defender. While some supporters may be keen to see Chelsea enter the market for a new centre-half, Badiashile has already proven himself as a worthy heir to his throne.

Speaking to talkSPORT shortly after joining the west Londoners last January, the Frenchman heaped praise on Silva and revealed how the Brazilian took him under his wing. Badiashile said: “First and foremost, it’s a real honour to play alongside him.

“And do you know what? For a young player like me, he’s someone that makes things easy. He’s a legend, isn’t he? He’s a real leader, he’s very, very experienced of course

Any of the advice that he gives me is always welcome, he’s advised me not only when we’ve been playing – he’s spoken to me during the game.

“But also before the game and in training as well. So he’s someone that you can only learn alongside. And as I say, it’s an absolute honour to line up alongside him.”

Following Chelsea’s win over Sheffield United at the weekend, Pochettino singled Badiashile out as somebody who impressed him during the game. The Blues boss said: “I think collectively it was good. Benoit, after long time away because he suffered a big injury, now he’s recovering his feeling and this is good.

“The challenge for us now is to recover all the players. It’s going to be difficult because we had a few injuries last week, and then we need to try to get the best from the squad which has a good balance if they are all fit.

“I am happy because this was important and now we are thinking about Newcastle on Tuesday, an important game to go to the semi-final. Newcastle are a great team but I think we can feel confident.”
