BREAKING NEWS: CHELSEA STAR Moises Caicedo fires back at Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp and has revealed the Truth behind him not joining Liverpool during the Summer and Joining Chelsea Instead.

Chelsea star Moises Caicedo has admitted that Liverpool and their manager Jurgen Klopp came in ‘too late’ for him in the summer transfer window after the Reds manager claimed they were ‘lucky’ to avoid the midfielder.

The 22-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge after months of negotiations between the Blues and his former club Brighton that eventually culminated in a £115million move. However, that wasn’t before a nervy end to the window which saw Liverpool attempt to hijack the deal with a £100million offer of their own.

The Ecuadorian international chose a move to West London where he has seemed to struggle in his debut season under Mauricio Pochettino. After giving a penalty away in his first game for the club in the 3-1 defeat to West Ham, Caicedo has so far failed to truly make the big impact that was promised with the large price attached to him.

Having sold the likes of Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Fabinho – three stars that had made the backbone of his Liverpool squad over the past few years – over the summer transfer window, Klopp had to settle for second place on two separate occasions when dealing with Chelsea after failing to get 19-year-old Romeo Lavia a week after missing out on Caicedo.

Since then, the Reds boss fired a dig at the pair after their struggles with Chelsea so far this season. In a recent press conference, he said: “The summer we had, a few strange things happened in the transfer market but here, between us, I can say ‘my God were we lucky!’

“We didn’t know that in the moment to be honest, it didn’t feel like it in that moment. I am really happy that it did not work out like that. I had an extremely good feeling before we started pre-season with who we had already.

“Maca [Alexis Mac Allister] already in and Dzsoba [Dominik Szoboszlai] and we view it as a chance for Ryan [Gravenberch] and we obviously realised that other central defensive midfielders don’t want to join Liverpool! Then we see what happens.”

Speaking to Sky Sports, Caicedo outlined the real reason why he didn’t join Liverpool and has claimed it’s simply the fact that they didn’t show as much support for the star as Chelsea did.

He said: “I chose Chelsea because I was talking with them first and then it was impossible not to choose them. They were with me, supporting me because in the summer I suffered a lot because it was complicated to leave Brighton.

“They were with me. In the last moment, Liverpool called me but it was late. It was too late, you know? I wanted to play for Chelsea and the people that worked here were with me through every moment and it was tough to say no to Chelsea.

“It’s Chelsea, you know. At Chelsea, you always have to win every game and if you don’t, you’ll feel the pressure. I’ve only been here for four months, everything is new for me and I think it’s about time. It’ll take time because I know my quality, I know my teammates and it’ll be our time.”
