BREAKING NEWS:It has been CONFIRMED That £29million Chelsea Star is leaving the club in January transfer window after not been able to prove himself after a year of signing into the BLUES.

“His place is not here in the team,we brought him into the club with High hopes that he would Help build the squad but obviously I was wrong” -Says Potchettino during an interview with Sky Sports

Trevoh Chalobah could be ruthlessly sold by Chelsea in January with Mauricio Pochettino looking to sign a new centre-back.

The youngster has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and has not played a single minute so far this season. He was deemed expendable in the summer with Pochettino preferring Thiago Silva, Axel Disasi and Levi Colwill in defence.

A move to Bayern Munich to reunite with former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel fell through late on for Chalobah and he has remained out of the picture ever since. It now appears that his days at Stamford Bridge are numbered as the January transfer window looms.

According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea are considering adding another central defensive option to their ranks. A deal will however only be possible should Chalobah leave the club with the Blues’ hierarchy now actively attempting to shift the academy graduate.

The return of Beniot Badiashile from his injury has also see Chalobah fall further out of contention. Speaking about the 24-year-old’s place in the squad back in September, Pochettino said: “What I can tell you is there is two parts. If an offer appears, it is because another part of the club accepted it to move or they were trying to find a solution or the player wanted to leave.

“You cannot only blame the club, if an offer appears for Jesus [Perez, my assistant], it is because Jesus was open to receiving the offer, no? Come on, we need to also be clever. Did you receive an offer, Jesus [laughs]?!

“No, but it is always easy to blame the club and blame the club. In the same way, maybe the player was thinking in pre-season or before the season to move in one direction. If after that didn’t happen, then I am fair with the player. I will give them a chance to perform and play here.

“Maybe the player decides to stay after but that’s the business. That is not ‘oh the club accepted the offer’ or ‘the player wanted to move’. Come on, it is the business that we know very well. The players that are here if they deserve will have the opportunities to play but they need to be better than the others in their position.”

Any exit would see Chalobah end his long association with the west London club. After progressing through the club’s youth academy, he has gone on to make 63 appearances for the senior side and helped them to the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup.

Chelsea have spent huge fees on defenders since the arrival of Todd Boehly – Disasi, Wesley Fofana and Badiashile among their expensive acquisitions over the last few campaigns. That spending has however not helped their cause in the Premier League though. Chelsea finished a miserable 12th last term and are now tenth after just four wins from their opening 13 games of the current campaign.
