Kylian Mbappe faces an increasingly uncertain future at Paris Saint-Germain, with his contract in the French capital set to expire at the end of the season. With Kylian Mbappe keeping his options open ahead of the January transfer window, the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid have been mooted as a potential destination. In an interview with French publication Telefoot, as quoted by GFNF, he remained tight-lipped on his future.
“It’s something I don’t want to talk about,” said Mbappe. “Especially since I already did it in June and it took up a big part of the international break. I want us to talk more about the national team, rather than me talking about something that will be resolved one day, so there will be time to talk about that.”
Contract demands
Kylian Mbappe has outlined his contract demands amid links with Chelsea and Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window. According to a report from AS, via SportWitness, Mbappe is asking for a salary of €35million (£30.5million) after tax as well as a signing bonus of roughly €100million (£87million).

Chelsea and Liverpool intend to try their luck for Kylian Mbappe this winter, according to Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport, as quoted by French outlet Le 10 Sport. The report states that the two Premier League clubs are ready to offer him ‘extremely important contracts’.
Alternative eyed
Real Madrid, who are widely considered favourites to sign Mbappe, are interested in signing Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez, according to tycsports.
It is claimed that the Spanish giants have identified Alvarez as a potential alternative to the PSG superstar in case he doesn’t end up at the Bernabeu Stadium next summer.
Contract agreement
Kylian Mbappe is ready to give up on a huge loyalty bonus in his Paris Saint-Germain contract, but he has again made clear to the club that he won’t sign a new deal, according to 90min. PSG have continued their push for Mbappe to sign a new deal, potentially including a release clause that would allow his future departure for a set fee – but that is not believed to be under consideration.
Mbappe has agreed to waive an €80million (£68m) bonus that he is due over the course of this season, which would actually mean a saving of €100million (£85m) for PSG.
Liverpool twist
Kylian Mbappe would reportedly be open to the idea of joining Liverpool next summer. The PSG forward has continued to be linked with a move to Merseyside in the last few years and has come close to leaving his current employers on more than one occasion.
A fresh update on the future of the French star by L’Equipe via GFFN has stated Liverpool remains an option for Mbappe and that the player could be tempted should a bid be made by the Reds.
Liverpool may well have the funds required to launch a bid of this nature next summer if Jurgen Klopp’s side were to cash in on Mohamed Salah, who remains a target for Saudi Arabian sides. Matching Mbappe’s wage demands would likely prove a tall order, however.

PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi has told RMCSport that talks have been held with Kylian Mbappe and his family over his future, but he was coy when asked about a new contract. He told the media on Thursday afternoon: “We have had very good discussions with Kylian.
“He’s a magnificent player, as a person and as a professional. We’ve had discussions with the rest of his family. New deal? I don’t want to talk about that. Mbappe is a PSG player.”

The PSG squad have decided against naming Kylian Mbappe their new club captain after voting for their choice for the new season. That’s according to AS, which reports that Marquinhos has been selected to retain the armband, despite Mbappe being in the running to hold it.
The Frenchman is believed to have ambitions to become a leader with the captaincy one day and it remains to be seen how the decision may impact his future.
