Cesc Fabregas lands role
Former Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas has been appointed interim manager of Serie B side Como, his first senior managerial position. Fabregas, who spent eight years with the Gunners before leaving for Barcelona in 2011, retired from playing earlier this year before working as a coach for Como’s Under-19 side.

Now, the Spaniard has been given the managerial reins on an interim basis after the Italian club opted to sack former head coach Moreno Longo. Como currently sit sixth in the league table, eight points behind league-leaders Parma.

Gabriel Jesus decision
Arsenal frontman Gabriel Jesus has travelled to Brazil to report for international duty, as per The Evening Standard. The 26-year-old has been sidelined with a hamstring injury for a little under three weeks, sustaining the issue during a 2-1 victory over Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League – a match that saw him score a goal and provide an assist.

Despite being out of action since then, Brazil head coach Fernando Diniz decided to name Jesus in his squad for his side’s World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Argentina, with the player now making the journey to South America. The Selecao’s medical team will now assess the former Manchester City star’s current fitness status before deciding if he is ready to play.

Under FIFA rules, Brazil are allowed to call up the versatile forward and evaluate him themselves.

Serie A side AS Roma are interested in signing Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior in the January transfer window, according to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb. It is claimed that the Italian outfit admire the Polish international, with head coach Jose Mourinho a big fan of the player.

Kiwior has struggled for consistent game time this term and Roma are said to be monitoring his situation in north London, keen on a potential loan move for the 23-year-old.
