Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson reportedly shushed a fan in the stands after they vented their frustrations at him during a 2-0 defeat to Brentford.
With the score at 0-0 heading into half-time, multiple reporters took to X to say one supporter had a go at the striker.
“Why don’t you score a goal,” the fan said, with Jackson responding by putting a finger to his lips.
Mauricio Pochettino then jumped to the defence of his player and told the Blues supporter to sit down.
Chelsea, as a whole, were greeted with resounding boos at full-time as the Bees produced a stunning smash-and-grab at Stamford Bridge.
Jackson, who made his seventh Premier League start of the season, was a quiet figure during the first-half against Brentford.
He has scored three goals for Chelsea during his first season in west London, with his most recent coming their 4-1 win over Burnley.
The Senegal international is yet to establish himself as the man to help solve the Blues’ scoring woes.
Pochettino’s side continued their trend from recent years of dominating matches in terms of chances but not finding the net.
Last season proved just that and their struggles seem to be continuing with just 13 league goals being scored so far this season.
Issues in defence also remain as Brentford took the lead, with Ethan Pinnock capitalising on a lack of concentration to head in.
Chelsea frustrations were clear to see in the latter stages of the match as Pochettino’s assistant Jesus Perez was sent off after shouting at the Brentford bench.
Bryan Mbeumo sealed all three points for the Bees in stoppage time as he netted an open goal after goalkeeper Robert Sanchez went up for a corner.
Chelsea therefore fell to their fourth defeat in the Premier League as Brentford won 2-0, their third consecutive victory at Stamford Bridge.
The result brings an end to Chelsea’s impressive run of form, with Pochettino and co. set to head back to the drawing board.
The Blues have also just won three league games this season, even if performances have proven much better than the previous campaign.
