Breaking new:”He will surely join Chelsea in January window as he is the last tactical piece to complete Pochettino build up, but in turn I need him” – Carlo Ancelotti confirm English-Spanish star Swap deal

After a rollercoaster 16 months, Antonio Conte finally departed Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday night.

Last season, the Italian helped his side clinch a top-four finish and subsequent UEFA Champions League qualification ahead of local rivals Arsenal. However, this term, things have been far less rosy.

There was a feeling that Conte was becoming increasingly irritable in each press conference and his recent post-match criticism of his players after they drew 3-3 with Southampton earlier this month proved to be the final straw. The former Chelsea head coach labelled his first-team players selfish before lamenting the club itself for failing to win a trophy in the last 15 years.

The veteran coach then officially left the club by mutual consent on Sunday evening, with assistant coach Christian Stellini taking charge until the end of the current campaign.

Former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with a sensational return to N17 but recent reports had claimed that the Argentine could be heading to Real Madrid if current Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti were to become the next manager of the Brazilian national team.

However, the Italian coach has now spoken about his desire to remain at the Bernabeu Stadium for the foreseeable future, something that could make Tottenham recruiting Pochettino a lot easier. Speaking to Marca, Ancelotti said: “I want to stay at Real Madrid. I’m happy.

“I have said many times that I would stay at Real Madrid for the rest of my life.”
