Mauricio Pochettino has up until now been hesitant to make too many unforced changes to his Chelsea line-up.

Before the international break, there had been just two changes made to the team, with them both being done off the back of injuries suffered.

However, the recent Premier League match against Bournemouth saw him make his first real performance based change, with Mykhailo Mudryk starting in favour of Ben Chilwell.

The Ukraine international certainly impressed in the first half, before dropping off and being replaced in the second 45.

The 0-0 draw has suggested that there still needs to be more changes made to the tried and trusted team, and this could now involve switching out arguably the most trusted player from the last few years.

Thiago Silva has started every game so far in the league this season, with somewhat of a defensive injury crisis occurring around him.

He began Sunday’s game at left centre-back, a role natural for Levi Colwill. However, the Englishman has been shoved out to left-back for the majority of the campaign.

With Benoit Badiashile also set to return to action in the coming weeks, there is a real risk that the development of these two players gets blocked

The duo could certainly also operate in a central defensive pairing, despite both being left footed.

As well as those two, there is also Axel Disasi, whose start to life at Stamford Bridge has certainly been underrated by many this season.

The Frenchman himself was pleased with his performance on Sunday, and also has the ability to form a partnership with either of the other two.

Either way, to see this it would mean dropping Silva, which is a brave decision that Pochettino will have to make.
