BREAKING NEWS:“ he have to as much minute to play, You want to spoil his career if you bench him, he can make you become the best coach in the world”- Chelsea legend Branislav Ivanovic has told Pochettino to stop benching his £280k-p/w star man who has the potential to play in different roles.

Former Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic believes his ex-teammates would prefer to be coached by Carlo Ancelotti instead of Jose Mourinho if given the choice.

The Serbian defender left Stamford Bridge in January and won Premier League titles under both managers during his nine years with the club.

The 32-year-old featured 376 times for the club and won his first of two titles under the guidance of Ancelotti back in 2010.

Ivanovic played a major role in Chelsea and Mourinho’s title success in 2015 but he feels the players would prefer the Italian’s calm management style.

Ancelotti is very different,” Ivanovic told Russian newspaper Sport Express.

“If players had a choice, I guess they would prefer to spend the entire career with Carlo. He is very calm and takes all the negative aspects on him, allowing the players to be comfortable.

“The results are equally good with both coaches.”

Ivanovic and Mourinho could come face-to-face before the end of the season with Zenit St Petersburg and Manchester United both in the Europa League.

The defender was an integral part of Mourinho’s team and he admitted he was happy to have had the opportunity to play under him.

“Training was unique under Mourinho,” said Ivanovic.

“He sometimes plays mind games with the press, but when it comes to the most important things, the matches themselves, he is always very serious.

“If you want to play for Mourinho, you have to follow his demands. Mourinho helps to develop the best qualities – professional and personal.

“You can’t be indifferent to him. You either love him or hate him. That’s what makes him special.

“I am glad that I had a chance to work with him.”
