Mauricio Pochettino has been given a huge injury boost ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Arsenal this weekend. Reports this week stated that Reece James had suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring problem – delaying his return to action after being tipped to feature against the Gunners on Saturday.

The 23-year-old defender has been nursing a hamstring problem since the opening weekend of the new Premier League season. Despite concerns over his fitness, there is hope that James will be available for selection on October 21 when Mauricio Pochettino welcomes the Gunners to Stamford Bridge in what is poised to be a blockbuster London derby.

James is said to have been training alone, making him a doubt now for the Arsenal meeting. If James to to miss the clash, then Malo Gusto is expected to fill in at right-back after serving a three-match ban.

Now, Chelsea have posted pictures of James looking in good spirits ahead of the game against the Gunners. The 23-year-old defender was spotted smiling whilst training out on the grass sparking speculation that he could be available to face Mikel Arteta’s side after all.
