Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has shared what he thinks would mark a successful campaign at Stamford Bridge.

He told Football Daily that winning is what should be seen as success when it comes to a club like Chelsea.

Things have certainly not got off to the best start for Pochettino, who is attempting to bring some good feelings back to Stamford Bridge.

He came in off the back of a long recruitment process carried out by the owners of the club, after a 12th placed finish last season was obviously deemed not good enough.

An unbeaten tour of the United States during pre-season suggested things were getting back on track, however the domestic campaign has not offered such hope.

In their opening six Premier League games, they have just one win to their name, with less goals scored than matches completed.

Pochettino on a succesful season
There was at least some joy in the week when they returned to winning ways in the EFL Cup, with a very strong performance against a tough Brighton side.

However, it will not be lost on anyone just how much more important a victory in the league would be, with the next opportunity coming tonight against Fulham.

Pochettino has claimed today that he will only consider this season a success if it is surrounded by winning at the club.

He said: “I think to win. I think the competition that we are in I think we need to try to win. To be successful, is to win. Chelsea is about winning.”

While fan support has certainly not left his side, it will not take too many more underwhelming results before the discontent gets too loud not to notice.
