Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal failed to win against Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby on Sunday, and Jorginho will probably be wondering ‘What if’.

While Tottenham Hotspur deservedly picked up a point from the Premier League match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, the second-half mistake from Jorginho did play a big role.

What if Jorginho had not done what he did?

It could have made a huge difference.

Jorginho mistake for Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur
Soon after Bukayo Saka made it 2-1 to Arsenal from the penalty spot in the second half, the £110,000-a-week (Spotrac) Italian midfielder made a poor judgement and allowed Tottenham to make it 2-2.

Jorginho tried to be too smart with the ball at his feet under no real pressure.

The Italian star saw Tottenham attacking midfielder James Maddison nick the ball off him, and Son Heung-min scored.

It was a really bad mistake.

Criticism for Arsenal midfielder Jorginho
And Arsenal legend Ian Wright was not impressed.

The pundit said on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One that it looked like Jorginho had fallen asleep.

Wright said about Jorginho: “He has got so many options, and he kind of falls asleep on that.”

Jorginho is a hugely experienced player, and no Arsenal fans expected that from the former Chelsea star.

However, we have to admit that mistakes happen even with the best of players.

Arsenal just have to move on now.
