Manchester United will arrive at Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal in the Premier League this weekend without three crucial first-team players.

Mason Mount and Luke Shaw are already side lined with the latter possibly out until December while Mount is aiming for a return after the international break and now another star has suffered a worrying injury.

On the opposite side of the coin, the Gunners are very close to returning to full strength with Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko, both signed from Manchester City last summer, building up their match fitness at London Colney.

Despite undergoing a knee operation less than a month ago, Jesus was back in training ahead of the Fulham clash and even made his playing return with a five-minute cameo.

Another week of work on the training pitches could see Jesus thrown in from the start but another Nketiah goal, after a slight injury scare saw him replaced from the start by Leandro Trossard, likely means he will be given the nod.

Jurrien Timber obviously remains as a long-term absentee but Arteta will likely have a plethora of options from the bench in comparison to his managerial counterpart with another Man United star expected to miss the game.

According to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol, Raphael Varane will not feature in the clash and could be absent for up to six weeks after suffering an injury against Nottingham Forest.

Victor Lindelof is therefore likely to be Lisandro Martinez’s centre-back partner for the clash while Christian Eriksen, who came in for Mount this past weekend, is expected to be given the nod again. Diogo Dalot was deployed in place of Shaw but ten Hag could welcome a new left-back for the fixture.

According to The Athletic, Man United have submitted a loan proposal to sign Marc Cucurella from Chelsea. An agreement in principle on personal terms is already said to be in place with talks ongoing between the two parties to agree on a fee.
