Manchester United are currently conducting medical tests on Altay Bayindir ahead of a potential move to bring him to Old Trafford this summer.

According to a report from The Athletic, Manchester United have been pursuing the Fenerbahce goalkeeper for a while now, but want some clarification on back problems that the 25-year-old has suffered with before signing him.

United boss Erik ten Hag wants a top-class backup for Andre Onana, and Bayindir may well be the man for the job.

The Turkey international is very highly regarded in his homeland, and would be a superb number two for the Red Devils.

However, the Fenerbahce ace moving to Manchester is far from a foregone conclusion…

Altay Bayindir currently undergoing medical ahead of potential move to Manchester United
Should United be satisfied with the outcome of the medical tests, they will be able to sign him for just over £4 million, according to a report from The Athletic.

Standing at 6ft 6in tall, the Turkey international is a very good shot-stopper indeed, and he is commanding in the air.

In 145 games for Fenerbahce, Bayindir has conceded only 162 goals and has kept 44 clean sheets in the process.

The 25-year-old would not be good enough to be the number one goalkeeper at Old Trafford in my opinion, but he’s more than adequate to serve as United’s backup option.

If Manchester United sign Altay Bayindir for £4 million this summer, I think that will be a decent deal for the Premier League giants.
