Arsenal transfer news: A double deal could be announced this weekend with the Gunners to seal an exit and welcome a new addition

Arsenal are set to make a double announcement in the next 24 hours with one transfer already confirmed and a second signing to be unveiled soon. The Gunners have spent over £200million on the signings of Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and Kai Havertz with the trio all making their competitive debuts in the 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest.

Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka netted first half goals to put Arsenal in control, however Taiwo Awoniyi scored late on to give Mikel Arteta a nervy final period. While the north Londoners would have been happy to take home all three points, Arteta has a fresh injury worry for one of his new signing.

“The physio and docs looked at him and were happy to continue,” Arteta said on the injury to Timber which saw him forced off in the second half. “Straight away in the second he made a movement and it felt funny. We will have to assess him.”

A potential problem for the Netherlands international comes very soon after Arteta was dealt a huge Gabriel Jesus injury blow. Following the Emirates FA Cup win over Monaco, the Gunners boss confirmed Jesus had undergone a minor operation to resolve a fresh problem occurring from the knee issue that kept him out for over three months last season.

However, after the game had ended, Jesus was spotted walking without a limp through the mixed zone with big progress made in his recovery since the Community Shield. Despite the new season being underway, several weeks still remain of the summer window with a departure being confirmed on Saturday as Marquinhos has sealed a loan move to Nantes.

The Brazil international was close to sealing a temporary switch to Olympiacos before the deal was hijacked by the French club. With that move being confirmed, another deal should be announced in the coming days with David Raya to sign on loan from Brentford.

The transfer has now all-but been confirmed as his agent, Jaume Munell, posted a picture of himself stood in front of the Arsenal badge at London Colney on his Instagram page. The Spain international was then spotted walking through the mixed zone following the victory against Nottingham Forest. understands the season-long loan will cost Arsenal £3million with an option to make the move permanent for £27million.
