Multiple outlets report that any move by Bayern Munich for Brentford goalkeeper David Raya is to collapse as Arsenal have shown interest in the 27-year-old.

Fabrizio Romano reports that talks between Bayern and Brentford about the goalkeeper were held earlier. Bayern offered a loan with an option to buy, but the offer was rejected by both Brentford and Raya. The record champions are not in a position to spend a high fee on a goalkeeper that is likely to be number two.

According to Sky Germany, Bayern will now pursue other options as negotiations with Brentford have broken down. Other goalkeepers that have been linked to Bayern previously are David de Gea and Yassine Bounou.

Until Bayern sign a backup goalkeeper they are unable to green-light Yann Sommer’s move to Inter Milan.

David Ornstein of the Athletic, reports that Arsenal have also begun to show interest in Raya, the 27-year-old prefers a move to Arsenal over Bayern. Arsenal are set to bid in the coming days for the goalkeeper and the talks between the two will begin to accelerate.

Arsenal’s interest in Raya stems from the fact that backup goalkeeper Matt Turner is of interest to Nottingham Forest and is likely to leave this summer.
