Real Madrid have made it a habit in recent years to sign some of the brightest young talents in world football. The likes of Fede Valverde, Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo and Eduardo Camavinga all arrived at the club while they were teenagers and have gone on to establish themselves as starters for Los Blancos.

Even this summer, they have signed Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler. Even Fran Garcia is just 23 years of age.

Thus, Real Madrid have a fantastic record of developing youngsters in recent years. And it looks like another wonderkid has caught their eye in recent times, in the form of Ivan Fresneda.

Fresneda is just 18 years of age but has already established himself as a starter for Real Valladolid. But following their relegation to the second division, the Spanish youth international is expected to leave the club this summer. Real Madrid are not the only ones interested in signing him though.

As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Fresneda’s release clause has dropped to €20 million after Real Valladolid’s relegation. In England, they say that Arsenal have reactivated their interest in the Spaniard, who has always been liked by their manager, Mikel Arteta. The contacts would have already started.

Other than Real Madrid and Barcelona, the likes of Juventus, Barcelona and AC Milan are also believed to hold an interest in Fresneda. Thus, the race to sign him is expected to be very tough.

Real Madrid’s brilliant record when it comes to developing youngsters could potentially hand them an advantage in the race to sign Fresneda and make them a more attractive destination for the Spanish youth international. One must also point out that Los Blancos are in serious need of a long-term solution at right-back, with Dani Carvajal no longer the player he once
