Arsenal are making siginificant moves in the transfer window. Given their objective to beat Manchester City to the Premier League title next season, many are starting to believe in that possibility given Mikel Arteta’s movements recently.

Having already secured Kai Havertz from Chelsea, progress is also being made very rapidly for Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber. Further, contract extensions are close to completion for William Saliba and Reiss Nelson. When all these are ticked off the to-do list, that would be FOUR deals made – Surely time for Arteta to relax, right?

Wrong. Arteta is not done there and he won’t be done for some time.

Arsenal keep an eye on Joao Cancelo

According to GIVEMESPORT, Arsenal are keeping an eye on Joao Cancelo and could potentially look into signing him after the deals for Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice are complete. This is complete ambition from the club and in the transfer window, they are beating Man City at their own game.

Cancelo spent the second half of the season out on loan at Bayern Munich, who did not wish to sign him permanently. Therefore, he’ll very awkwardly return to Manchester City, while his agents sort out his next club.

Pep Guardiola has even admitted recently that he has no problem with Arsenal trying to sign Joao Cancelo. Not only does Cancelo have no future at the Etihad Stadium, but Mikel Arteta is a friend of Pep’s, which makes the deal less of a snatch and grab and instead some pleasurable business.

It’s a surprise to see that not many clubs are racing to sign Cancelo. It’s not often that a player of his world-class quality comes available on the market. Particularly when you factor in his winning mentality and versatility, it’s no surprise to see Arsenal keeping an eye on him.
