Exit-linked Manchester City captain Ilkay Gundogan is set to make a decision on his future ‘on Tuesday,’ according to reports.

The 32-year-old is a target for Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona. But, he could also still potentially stay at the Etihad.

However, Gundogan is now ‘set’ to choose his next move imminently. So, Pep Guardiola will be keen for him to stay at Man City for at least another season.

As reported by TEAMtalk, the Cityzens initially offered Gundogan a one-year contract extension. Then, they changed their offer to a two-year deal. However, as it stands, it remains unsigned.

Interestingly, Gundogan was one of Guardiola’s first-ever Man City signings. And, it’s fair to say the midfielder has been an overwhelming success.

Since arriving in 2016, the Germany international has made 304 appearances for the Premier League champions, scoring 60 goals and making 40 assists.

In the process, Gundogan has helped his team to win 14 major trophies. This season has been the highlight of his career, though, captaining Man City to a historic treble.

Despite the incredible Champions League-winning campaign, the Man City captain could move on this summer.

Gundogan decision expected ‘on Tuesday’

As previously reported by TEAMtalk, Arsenal chiefs believe they are in a ‘strong position’ to sign Gundogan on a free transfer this summer.

However, as mentioned, there are plenty of top European clubs in the race for the Man City fan-favourite.

Now, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Gundogan will decide on his future ‘on Tuesday,’ after Man City’s open-top bus parade.

The report suggests that Barcelona are the favourites to seal a deal. The Spanish giants have offered the midfielder a three-year deal, and manager Xavi has already held talks with him.

Although, Mundo Deportivo add that Gundogan is ‘receiving a lot of pressure’ from both Man City and PSG. So, they remain two viable options for him, despite remaining behind Barcelona.

This season, the German has made 51 appearances across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and making seven assists.

Clearly, he still has plenty to offer at the highest level. So, it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

As it stands, Gundogan seems more likely to leave the Cityzens than stay, with Barcelona being the favourites.

But, after a treble-winning season, he may find his new contract offer difficult to turn down. On the other hand, there could be no better time for the midfielder to leave Man City on a high..
