There is an ongoing protest in Sokoto State seeking for the immediate release of persons arrested by police over the gruesome murder of Miss Deborah Samuel who was accused blasphemy, POLITICS NIGERIA reports.

Deborah, a 200 level student of the Sokoto State College of Education, was on Thursday beaten, stoned and her body was burned afterwards by some northern youths.

The videos of the cruel act went viral on social media and caused massive outrage.

At least two persons were arrested by the police after the incident, and the security agents vowed through Sanusi Abubakar, Police’s spokesperson in Sokoto State, that the suspects in the viral video on Twitter were spotted and will be nailed soon.

As the demonstrators side with the killers on Saturday morning, security forces are on ground managing the situation.

Meanwhile, Nigerians are still using Twitter to protest Deborah’s killing, calling on the government to ensure that justice was served.
