The early hours of Christmas day were full of God’s blessings for the family of Mr. Joseph Goerge from Etim Ekpo Local Government Area whose wife was not only delivered of a Christmas baby at 12:05AM, but was also lavished with a bumper gift package by the wife of the governor, Her Excellency Dr. Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel.
The male baby weighing 3.3kg at birth, elicited joy from the parents and other well-wishers who had thronged the General Hospital Ukpom, in Abak local government area to usher in the new bundle of joy.
Dr. Emmanuel, while cuddling the special gift from God, offered special prayers for the baby and the parents and expressed optimism that the birth of the baby would herald good tidings for the family and the state at large.
In her motherly way, the First Lady took out time to interact with other nursing mothers’ in the maternity ward, and as well gave out special gift packages and cash to their babies. She wished the babies and their parents a merry Christmas and a rewarding new year in advance.
In appreciation, the mother of the Christmas baby, Mrs. Helen George, on behalf of other parents, appreciated the governor’s wife for timely visit and benevolence and prayed God to bless her.
On his part, the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital Dr. Umoh Bassey, flanked by the doctor-in-charge, Dr. Nsikan Okodi in appreciation, thanked Mrs. Emmanuel for visiting and donating to the nursing mothers this season, and promised that the healthcare institution is determined to return to its former glory in service delivery.
Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Abak, Hon. Ekerete Inyang, thanked the governor’s wife for her visit to the hospital, praying that God will reward her.
