GOVERNOR UDOM EMMANUEL ADMONISHES CHRISTIANS ON ESSENCE OF THANKSGIVING
Governor Udom Emmanuel has urged Christians to acknowledge God’s faithfulness and blessings in their endeavours especially for the gift of life and good health.
Governor Emmanuel gave the charge Tuesday Night during a 7 day Convention with the theme, ‘The Bible; The Gateway to your Miracle’, organized by Rev. Uma Ukpai of the Victory Cathedral, Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo.
The governor emphasized that having seen God’s enduring mercies and protection against the scourge of Covid-19 Pandemic which claimed lives across the world, Christians ought to be grateful to God for his mercies.
“Let me thank God for an opportunity, for us to live one extra day it is a great privilege and it is by the Grace of God and by the mercies of God. By Friday we will continue at Ibom Hall Grounds for the Christmas Carol 2021 to sing praises to God and to appreciate God, the Bible says let the living praise the Lord, so if you are alive and don’t praise God you are disobedient to God’s command”.
He commended Christians for always interceding for the State and Country in their prayers and prayed God for His blessings to end the year successfully.
‘’God we cannot leave 2021 without receiving your goodness, may God drop something good for Akwa Ibom in 2021 and the new year ahead’’.
In his homily, the guest preacher, and Senior Pastor, Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, who spoke on the topic, “Bravery the force that ends Slavery” said that Christians should develop their minds with thoughts of possibility and courage as exemplified in the teachings of faith in the scriptures.
‘’Paul who had this understanding in Philippians 4: 13, said I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me, God will not do anything if we are not ready.
“The greatest challenge here is that many have refused to develop their minds with possibility thoughts because as a man thinks in his heart so is he, Prov: 23:7”, he emphasized.
According to Pastor Ibiyeomie, “Christians need bravery because without bravery one cannot taste honey , without bravery you cannot enter your Canaan, without bravery you cannot remain in the race and without bravery you cannot get to the next level”.
The host, Rev. Uma Ukpai, prayed for believers assuring that their challenges and problems will soon become their promotion.
Highlight of the evening was a special rendition by the wife of the Governor, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel who performed alongside the guest artiste Chioma Jesus as the duo inspired the congregation to praises.
