Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer has impressed a lot of people this season, including teammate Raheem Sterling.

Cole Palmer has been thriving at Chelsea following his £45m arrival from Manchester City over the summer (Evening Standard), and Raheem Sterling has praised him in an interview with beIN SPORTS.

It was the 21-year-old who drew Chelsea level in their 4-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday, while he also managed to provide an assist during the game.

His goal in north London was his third of the season for his new side, with all three of them coming from the penalty spot.

Raheem Sterling raves about Cole Palmer
Sterling has described Palmer as an intelligent footballer and says he loves how the English youngster plays the game.

Speaking to beIN SPORTS, Sterling said: “Cole’s always someone that I’ve got along with from my time at City. I love how he plays, how intelligent he is on the ball even for his age and he has that ‘I want to show’ character.

“He doesn’t hide behind anything. He’s a person that wants to lead on the pitch, so he’s fantastic in that sense.”

Chelsea’s two first-choice wingers
Right now, you would have to say that Sterling and Palmer are Chelsea’s two main options for the flanks, especially after the Tottenham game.

Sterling really used his pace to try and exploit Ange Postecoglou’s high line. It was the kind of wing play supporters enjoy watching.

They have three goals each in the Premier League, with only Nicolas Jackson having managed more after his hat-trick on Monday, though all of Palmer’s have, of course, been penalties.

Nevertheless, Palmer and Sterling have been two of Chelsea’s best players this season, the former arguably the best.

Palmer and Sterling take on their old side next when City travel to Stamford Bridge on Sunday to face Chelsea.

If Mauricio Pochettino’s men are to get a good result, then both players will have to be at their very best again.

It is a game that will see Palmer go up against the likes of Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland, with former Chelsea player Jason Cundy recently comparing the Chelsea man to the City playmaker.
