Manchester United are reportedly considering a player-plus-cash package for West Ham captain Declan Rice.

West Ham would reportedly be open to the prospect of accepting Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire in part exchange for Declan Rice. The developments have emerged following the news that Manchester United are seemingly prepared to offer the duo as part of a package for Rice, who is valued at £100million by West Ham at this moment in time.

So far, Arsenal are leading the charge but Manchester United could be set to rival the Gunners’ bid by tabling a swap deal proposal.

The Telegraph are reporting that Manchester United are debating whether to include McTominay and Maguire within the package to sweeten a deal.

Arsenal are currently the highest bidders but given West Ham hold an interest in both McTominay and Maguire, it’s a deal that could sweeten negotiations.

According to insider ExWHUEmployee, both players would be of interest to West Ham which could provide United with motivation to chance their arm.

@ExWHUEmployee said: “We suspect the rumour of Manchester United entering the Declan Rice race with a player + cash deal could be true. West Ham would consider Maguire and McTominay in any deal. Maguire would need to take a cut in his wages. Moyes admires McTominay.”

West Ham have been hopeful of a bidding war for Rice ever since chairman David Sullivan confirmed the Hammers were ready to sell their captain this summer following the Conference League triumph in Prague.

Manchester City have also been linked with a swoop and it’s been speculated that they could offer Kalvin Philips as part of a package.

West Ham are long-time admirers of Phillips but the former Leeds man has made it clear he intends to stay put next season despite making just two Premier League starts last term.
