Why My Friend From Kebbi State Vowed Not To Vote On Religious & Ethnic Grounds – Dr. Kenneth Okonkwo

Legal practitioner and popular Nigerian actor, Kenneth Okonkwo, has shared the sad story of his friend who vowed to abandon ethnic and religious sentiments when voting in the next election. The Labour Party member shared the story on AIT News while discussing the key issues that could influence Nigerians ahead of the next election.

Addressing the topic, Kenneth said, “My friend, Comrade Farouk, could not attend his mother’s funeral after she died because he was warned about the terrorists who had taken over his community and openly formed toll gates and checkpoints where they kidnapped people. Again, his elder sister died and he was warned not to visit.”

He continued, “My friend vowed after both incidents that he would not vote based on ethnic and religious sentiments in the next election. My friend said that he would vote for his freedom in the 2023 election. I believe Nigerians should vote for their freedom.”
