Reactions As Orji Kalu Said Igbos Shouldn’t Waste Their Votes On Peter Obi

Orji Uzor Kalu, former governor of Abia State and Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate, has stated that the Labour Party‘s presidential nominee, Peter Obi, has little chance of winning the 2023 election.

Senator Orji Kalu.

Obi, according to Kalu, lacks the kind of organization that will allow him to win the election.

As a result, he asked people not to waste their ballots on Obi. Kalu and Obi are both of Igbo descent, but Kalu emphasised that the election is not regional, but national.

Kalu, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, told journalists in the National Assembly on Tuesday that he had to withdraw from the race “because presidency is not a regional issue.”

Kalu stated that as an APC member, he is obligated to vote for the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Tinubu is a Yoruba from the South-West area of Nigeria.
