Majority Leader of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, popularly known as ‘West’, was chased out of his hometown on Tuesday by youths in Owo, reportedly over under-performance.

POLITICS NIGERIA learned that the incident happened when West was in a meeting with some leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the community.

In a video obtained by this newspaper, the youths could be heard raining insults on the lawmaker as they pursue him and his entourage.

However, reacting, Ogunmolasuyi said he was not chased out, rather he was attacked by thugs mobilised by his political opponents in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He dismissed allegations of him underperforming, saying he issued out scholarships, palliatives and executed several developmental projects in his constituency.

The incident has drawn different reactions from social media users. While majority approve of the act, a few feel it is improper.
