The vice chairman of Isoke North Local Government Area of Delta StateFrank Ozue, who was abducted by unknown gunmen on Sunday night while returning home from a nightclub in Ughelli, headquarters of Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state, was released after his family paid the sum of N5million to the kidnappers.

The abductors had on Sunday contacted the family and demanded a ransom of N30 million, but after much negotiation it was reduced to N5 million.

Meanwhile, a family member said the kidnapping story still seems suspicious to everyone.

The family member said the ransom was transferred to the vice chairman’s wife’s account late Wednesday, and her husband was released that same day.

How the wife was able to make payment to her husband’s abductors and secure his release the same day money was transferred to her is still a mystery.

According to the family member, everything seems like a plan between the vice chairman and his wife and should be questioned.
