Alheri Emmanuel, mother of Deborah Samuel, the slain student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto State, has vowed that her remaining seven children will never receive formal education.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Alheri said this while speaking with the press on Sunday.

Recall that a mob killed Deborah over alleged blasphemy last Thursday.

Videos of the late student being stoned and beaten with sticks were shared on social media.

Her killing had sparked outrage across the country, with Nigerians asking the government to fish out the perpetrators of the crime.

“I have no demands; I don’t want anything but one thing I know is that my children will never go to school again,” Alheri said amidst tears.

The police command in Sokoto had announced the arrest of two suspects in connection with the killing. The arrest led to a violent protest at the weekend, with the state government subsequently declaring a curfew in Sokoto metropolis.
