Deborah Samuel: Murderers Must Be Brought To Justice – European Union To Nigeria

Deborah Samuel, a Nigerian citizen, was lynched in Sokoto State, according to the European Union.

Last Thursday, a mob forcibly took the life of a Shehu Shagari College of Education student.

The European Union encouraged Nigerian authorities to pursue the culprits.

The 27-member union reacted on Wednesday by demanding that justice be served.

“I’m still saddened by Deborah Samuel’s gruesome murder in Sokoto last week.

“Everything must be done to ensure that the killers are not only apprehended quickly, but also that justice is served. “Recurrence must also be avoided,” according to a Twitter statement.

Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, a prominent lawyer, has slammed the “watery accusations” brought against the two suspects detained in the Deborah death.

The charges are “an affront to the deceased’s parents, the people of Nigeria, and God who created Deborah,” according to the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

The EU, on the other hand, has urged young people to go beyond obtaining a voter’s card and actively engage in the general elections in 2023.

Young Nigerians may only influence who rules over them for another four years, according to the organization.

Ambassador Samuela Isopi, the head of the EU delegation to Nigeria and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), made the call.

The 2023 polls, according to Isopi, are an opportunity for young people to participate in the decision-making process.

The diplomat instructed them to choose a political office and to run for election.

“Now is the moment for youths to have a say in the outcome of the 2023 elections for the sake of themselves and their country.”

“When we say that youngsters are the future of tomorrow,” Isopi added, “this is the tomorrow our leaders have always spoken about.”
