A high-ranking member of the Boko Haram terrorist group, Mohammed Reejal, has been killed, POLITICS NIGERIA reports.

Reejal was killed by fighters of ISIL affiliate, Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP), at Tokombare part of Sambisa forest in Borno State on Sunday during an ambush.

The main Boko Haram group were reportedly on their way to loot food items when the attack occurred. The slain terrorist was one of the commanders of Boko Haram.

The northeast is witnessing the worst and longest-running security crisis in Nigeria. There, Boko Haram and ISWAP, which broke out of the former, have killed, abducted and looted on a massive scale while fighting against the Nigerian military.

Nigeria’s military is yet to issue an official statement in respect of Reejal’s demise.
