The mother of Abubakar Idris, a popular government critic, commonly known as Dadiyata, is dead.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Dadiyata’s mother died on Tuesday at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna State. She was 66.

It was learnt that the woman had been battling ulcer and High Blood Pressure (HBP).

She will be buried soon at the Tudun Wada burial ground in Kaduna.

Dadiyata was born on the 3rd of June 1985. He studied mass communication at Bayero University Kano. Dadiyata is a prominent twitter personality who describes himself as “a loyal fan” to Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a former Governor of Kano State.

Dadiyata is a fierce critic of Governor Umar Ganduje, and a supporter of former governor. Dadiyata often spars with Ganduje’s supporters on social media.

He has actively criticized the government of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Nasir El-Rufai through his political social media activism.

In August 2019, news of Dadiyata’s disappearance made headlines after he was reportedly abducted from his home in Barnawa, Kaduna State.
