On Lagos Island today, May 21, one person was confirmed killed after a three-story structure under construction collapsed.
The building at 4 Alayaki Lane, Lagos Island, was captured by the LASBCA District Office and served with all Statutory Notices, sealed at the District and Central Enforcement Level, according to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA.
The developer had maintained clandestine operations largely at night and on weekends, according to further inquiry.
Unknown numbers of individuals are trapped inside the structure. Two persons were rescued alive, while the third was found dead.
Search and rescue efforts are currently underway.
