Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that there is a player at Chelsea who is yet to play yet that Mauricio Pochettino is a big fan of.
He took to twitter to state that Wesley Fofana is part of the boss’ plans for the future, despite missing the entire season up to now.
There was a real positive piece of news yesterday as far as injuries are concerned, as the Blues finally look as if they are shaking off their troubles.
Fofana, who was expected by many not to feature until the latter stages of this season, was spotted back on the grass for the first time.
He suffered a serious knee injury at the beginning of pre-season, and this just added to the mountain of issues he has already faced since joining Chelsea.
He has been unable to string a run of games together up to now, which will concern him when he looks at the transfer business the club have been pulling off.
Pochettino really rates Fofana
Off the back of the news regarding the Frenchman, they brought in Axel Disasi who plays a very similar role to him on the right of the centre-backs.
While the former Monaco man has enjoyed a prosperous time in the first team since joining, that could be about to change when Fofana gets himself match fit.
Romano has now claimed that Pochettino is a huge fan of the player despite not seeing him play for him yet.
He said: “Chelsea announce Wesley Fofana’s back on Cobham’s grass. Working to be back with 1st team as soon as possible.
“Understand Pochettino rates Fofana highly as part of his future Chelsea plans.”
With Levi Colwill and Benoit Badiashile also looking incredibly promising defenders, the future in the position continues to look brighter for Chelsea.
